PowerBriX Cloud

Predictive Maintenance on the railways

The world's first Auxiliary Power Supply (APS) with cloud connectivity is currently being brought to production. Embever, as IoT experts, has partnered with PowerTech Converter to set new standards in efficient power supply for rail vehicles. The task of the APS lies in the electrical on-board power supply of the train.

Summary

Challenge

PowerBriX collects data locally about, e.g. the energy consumption of the train's auxiliary units, the grid and the battery behaviour. In the event of fault, customers had to read out the devices log data themselves using a diagnostic computer and send it to the manufacturer.

Solution

Data collected by the PowerBriX unit is now being sent automatically to the cloud. Operating data can be continuously recorded and evaluated. Environmental conditions that lead to certain events can now be remotely identified.
