Are you curious about the Internet of Things world and would like to join the Embever team during your studies?
Our team is seeking a newcomer software developer to support in the development of our new product, Embever Cloud as a Module. You will get the chance to work on the backend or frontend side to apply your knowledge practically and learn from a team of experienced engineers.
Embever is a tech startup founded in 2017 as a research project from the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität that develops IoT products and services. Our office is in the city center of Magdeburg, a city full of history, green spaces and low living costs.
Objectives and responsibilities of this role

You will learn how scalable and high-throughput IoT systems are built and maintained

With the help of our Engineers, you will write code for the frontend or the backend of our IoT platform using state-of-the-art technologies

You will learn how to contribute to software architecture decisions, participate in infrastructure and backend code reviews to ensure solutions have the right balance between quality and impact
Qualifications and requirements

Basic programming knowledge

Basic knowledge of Git

For frontend developers we expect:

Experience with JavaScript, preferably with React

Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS

For backend developers we expect:

Experience with Python
-
Basic knowledge of SQL

Knowledge of Cloud Platforms (AWS) and Docker is a plus

Fun person to work with and eager to learn new technologies and platforms
Nice to have but will definitely learn

Knowledge of Terraform

DevOps skills
